Sony showcased its latest HD solutions at NAB 2008
Sony is pleased to announce the successful showcase at NAB 2008 Las Vegas and would like to thank you for your participation. More than 105,000 broadcasting professionals and 1,600 exhibitors turned up during the 4-day event. Sony’s major announcements include the new XDCAM™ HD422 camcorder and deck to HDV™ family with hybrid media flexibility and XDCAM EX™ solid-state system and up to the newly announced F35 CineAlta™ camera systems.
The expanding family of Sony’s XDCAM HDProfessional Disc system now includes new camcorder PDW-700 and recording deck PDW-HD1500 that add the benefits of 50 Mbps 4:2:2 optical disc recording to a high-definition optical disc workflow.
The expanding family of Sony’s XDCAM EX™ video production technology now includes new models that increase the benefits of a solid-state workflow. These include the PMW-EX3 camcorder, the PMW-EX30 deck, and the PHU-60K professional hard-disk unit.
Sony is expanding the functionality of its HDCAM SR™ videotape recorders, adding new file transfer capabilities to its SRW-5800 deck, and introducing an affordable companion player deck, model SRW-5100, to the product line.
Raleigh, N.C.-based television station WRAL is adopting Sony Electronics’ new XDCAM HD422 Professional Disc technology. Over the next two years, the station will roll out more than 30 of Sony’s new PDW-700 optical camcorders and several PDW-HD1500 decks for use in its ENG and news production operations.
TVNZ Broadcast Services, the production arm of Television New Zealand, has ordered Sony PDW-700XDCAM HD422 camcorders as the start of it’s transition to high definition field production. The cameras will be used on lifestyle shows such as the popular “Mucking In” series and other magazine shows.
ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation (ABS-CBN), the largest integrated media and entertainment company in the Philippines, has selected Sony PDW-F355 XDCAM HD camcorders and PDW-U1 drive units for its deployment for tapeless production. The company plans to roll-out 45 XDCAM HD camcorders and 6 drive units across its stations.
