Asia-Pacific, May 21, 2012 – Sony announces new installation projector models VPL-CX235 and VPL-CW255 designed to improve ease of use and lower energy costs in the education and business sectors. Both models deliver installation flexibility, eco-friendly features, and a low total cost of ownership in a stylish design that blends into any décor. "Sony’s projectors have already been welcomed by the industry, garnering praise for their high picture quality, efficiency and usability. These new additions to the projector family will further reinforce the company’s commitment to the display business, and allow the company to offer a breadth of products currently unavailable elsewhere, at an affordable price and service level, to the corporate and education markets," said Mr Tsuyoshi Nagata, General Manager of Presentation Display, Professional Solutions Company (PSAP), Sony Electronics Asia Pacific.
Consistent with Sony’s latest projectors, ECO Picture Mute function reduces power consumption by up to 70 per cent, saving users money and energy. This feature can be activated with an instant off / on button, meaning that there is no need to turn the power completely off and back on. The projectors also use an ECO Lamp Dimming function, which when activated can reduce power consumption and brightness by 10–15 per cent. The dimming function happens so slowly that it cannot be detected by the naked eye. After the user pre-sets a time for it to start, the brightness and power consumption will reduce to 30 per cent power usage. When a new input or image is sent to the projector, instant full brightness power returns.
Each projector is also equipped with Sony’s unique BrightEra™ 3 LCD Inorganic Panel technology, which delivers higher picture quality, substantially brighter images, higher efficiency, better contrast, consistent colour stability, longer durability and usability to optimise the presentation of PowerPoint documents, websites and videos.
