Sony France is proud to join forces with the Musée d’Orsay in Paris for its latest exhibition, showcasing the great Dutch artist, Van Gogh in glorious 4K
To bring an extra dimension to the exhibition, our first 4K home cinema projector, the VPL-VW1000ES, gives visitors the chance to explore the artist’s exceptional work ‘Wheatfield with Crows’ in an exceptionally detailed, Ultra HD virtual display.
Four times the resolution of Full HD
The painting currently hangs in Amsterdam, so the VPL-VW1000ES offer visitors in Paris a perfectly faithful representation. Using 4K projection was the obvious choice for the exhibition’s curators. At 4096 x 2160 pixels, native 4K is four times the resolution of Full HD (1920 x 1080), so it allows viewers to see the work in exceptionally fine detail.
First 4K home cinema projector
The VPL-VW1000ES was the first native 4K home cinema projector on the market, offering a totally immersive visual experience. Advanced SXRD panels, the very same as those used in our professional movie theatre projectors, are designed to produce incredible images and superb, true colour reproduction.
The Crows Room
The exhibition, entitled Van Gogh/Artaud: The Man Suicided by Society centers around French dramatist Artaud’s writings on the artist and features some 40 paintings, selected drawings, letters and other graphic works. It opened on 11 March and runs until 6 July 2014.
